Downtown Bloomsburg, PA - wants people to think of bricks for people's stockings this year instead of coal.
The organization is raising money to build a "green space" on Main Street, namely a plaza in front of the Columbia County Courthouse. It's expected to cost $85,000.
While grants from the Alcoa Foundation, Columbia County commissioners, Renaissance Jamboree and the Columbia-Montour County Chamber of Commerce have covered $39,700, the organization needs to raise money from the public as well.

Organizers will have sample bricks and pavers during late-night shopping in Bloomsburg on Friday in the Old Main Street Interiors building.
Late-night shopping lasts from 6 p.m. to midnight Friday.
